TM-Europe 2011 Call for Papers

Extended to May 20th (Friday)

Dear Colleague,

Due to a number of requests the call for papers for TM-Europe 2011 International Translation Management Conference has been extended until May 20th. This year's conference will take place on 29 and 30 September 2011, in Warsaw, Poland.

This year's theme is Process Management and Standards for the Translation and Localisation Industry.

TM-Europe 2011 is held in collaboration with the IALB (International Association Language and Business) and, as in the previous years, the PSBT (Polish Association of Translation Companies) is the main patron of the conference.

Additionally, the 2nd XLIFF Symposium will take place on 28 September 2011 (Wednesday) - the pre-conference day.

TM-Europe 2011 builds on the success of all the previous TM-Europe and "Languages and Business" conferences and traditionally focuses on management issues for the translation and localisation industry, with particular emphasis this time on process management and standards.

We are planning to structure the programme for TM- Europe 2011 around the following topics:

  • Process management - optimising processes, CRM strategies and systems, managing a dispersed organisation (incl. global staff, staff working from home etc)
  • Standards for the translation industry developed in ISO TC 37 and OASIS - perspectives, implications, and practical issues
  • Standards previously developed in LISA - perspectives, implications, and practical issues
  • Project and operations management - increasing productivity, efficiency and lean management
  • Translation Technology - as a means of saving costs and increasing efficiency, ROI
  • Best Practice and Standards for Global Business - perspectives, implications, and practical issues

If you are interested in the above topics and have knowledge and experience to share with your peers, potential clients, suppliers, and other industry experts, please save the date and submit a proposals for presentations and panels for TM-Europe 2011.

Please note, that as a result of our collaboration with IALB we will additionally holding a half-day optional track for presentations in French and German, so please feel free to submit proposals for such presentations too.

The deadline for submitting proposals is 20 May 2011 and we shall be contacting potential speakers and panellists at the end of May. Details of the programme will be announced and registration will open in June 2011.
