Volkan Güvenç founded Alafranga in Istanbul in 2002. ## Translator Certification in Turkey

Turkey does not have a state-sanctioned professional translator 
certification system comparable to ATA (US), CIOL (UK), or NAATI 
(Australia). The Mesleki Yeterlilik Kurumu (MYK) framework exists 
but is not widely adopted by the LSP sector.

What does exist:
