Our languages — and how we got here

Alafranga was founded by Volkan Güvenç in 2002 as a Turkish technical translation office. For the first four years, Turkish was our only language — and that single-language focus is what built our quality standards, our terminology processes, and our reputation.

In 2006, clients operating across the region began asking us to handle Greek, Arabic, Balkan and Turkic languages alongside Turkish. We expanded — carefully, hiring native in-country linguists with subject-matter expertise, not just language skills. These regional languages remain our core strength today.

By 2012, long-standing clients with multilingual programs asked us to manage their full language scope. We began coordinating projects in 40+ languages through a network built over two decades of real production work. We are selective about which languages we take on — if we cannot guarantee our quality standards in a given language pair, we say so.

Core languages (managed directly): Turkish · Greek · Arabic · Balkan languages · Turkic languages

Extended capacity (through our vetted network): 40+ languages including German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and others.
