▮The Brief
Enviroburners came to us with a specific challenge: combustion engineering documentation destined for end users in multiple international markets — each requiring technically precise, structurally clear translation by specialists who understood the content, not just the language.

▮What the Work Required
Installation-specific documentation. Each Enviroburners project was tied to a specific installation — Ichihara (Japan), Grenoble (France), Ust-Ilimsk (Russia), Ruzomberok (Slovakia). The translated manuals were not generic product documentation. They were site-specific operating and maintenance documents for systems already installed or being commissioned. Accuracy was not optional — an operator in Ichihara relying on a mistranslated procedure had no fallback.
Combustion engineering terminology across nine language pairs. Burner system documentation carries highly specific terminology — ignition systems, flame detection, fuel train components, safety interlocks, purge cycles, combustion air ratios. These terms do not always have direct equivalents in target languages, particularly Japanese and Russian, where engineering vocabulary has developed along different industrial traditions. We assigned translators with verifiable energy sector and industrial engineering backgrounds to each language pair.
Safety documentation as a distinct content type. Risk assessments, safety interlocks and emergency procedures within the Ust-Ilimsk documentation required additional scrutiny — warning language, hazard classifications and numerical thresholds were treated as zero-tolerance content. Any deviation from source meaning in safety-critical passages was flagged for re-review before delivery.
Continuity across acquisition. When Enviroburners became ANDRITZ Enviroburners, the project relationship continued without interruption. The terminology assets, specialist assignments and workflow protocols built during the Enviroburners Oy phase carried forward into the ANDRITZ phase — meaning the Russian and Brazilian Portuguese projects benefited from accumulated institutional knowledge about the company's product range and documentation conventions.
