▮SUBJECT MATTER
- Technical Translation Machinery manuals and engineering specifications are written under constraints that most content does not have: controlled terminology, numbered sections that cross-reference each other, figures whose callouts must match the text beside them, units that follow regional convention. A technical translator works inside those constraints rather than rewriting around them. Alafranga has translated manuals and technical documentation since 2002, across machinery, energy, automation and electrical systems. → Technical Translation
- Legal Translation In legal text the translation carries effect. What moves between languages is not vocabulary but doctrinal categories that shift as statutes, administrative practice and case law develop, and Turkish contract and data protection law has changed considerably since 2016. Alafranga checks terminology against the current version of the relevant legislation for each project rather than relying on a glossary built once. Where a document is filed with a Turkish court, notary or authority, we work with sworn translators in Turkey whose signature is notarised, and we handle the apostille step on request. → Legal Translation
- Medical Translation A wrong dose, a missing contraindication, a mistranslated warning: in medical content the margin for error is zero, and that is why regulated medical documents go through our fully human workflow with two independent specialists and no AI drafting. Turkish medical device regulation follows the MDR and IVDR, but submissions go to TİTCK and terminology follows their conventions rather than the EU source directly. We translate instructions for use, labelling, technical documentation, clinical trial protocols, consent forms and patient information, holding terminology consistent across studies, sites and revisions. → Medical Translation

- Website Localization A localized website is not a translated one. Navigation labels have to fit the space they were designed for, and Turkish runs longer than English almost everywhere. Meta titles and descriptions need to be written for what people actually search in the target market, not translated from the English original, or the page reads correctly and ranks for nothing. Alafranga localizes marketing pages, CMS-driven content, help centres and legal pages, working in your content system where one exists, and keeping terminology consistent as the site is updated rather than treating each release as a new job. → Website Localization
- Software Localization Software localization happens in resource files, not documents. Strings arrive without the sentences around them, placeholders have to survive every build, and text that fit an English button will not fit a Turkish one: expansion of 40 to 50 percent is normal in short interface strings. Turkish adds a failure of its own, because the dotted and dotless i mean that automatic capitalisation produces the wrong letter unless the locale is set correctly, and that bug reaches production regularly. We work in memoQ, SDL Trados and your own environment where you have one, and return files ready to build. → Software Localization
- Game Localization Game text is written to be read fast and felt, which makes it the hardest thing here to translate mechanically. Character limits are tighter than in software, tone carries as much as meaning, and the same term has to hold across UI, dialogue, item descriptions and store copy through years of updates. Alafranga localized over a million words for HI-REZ Studios across a four-year programme, working with translators who play in the genre rather than reading strings cold. → Game Localization

Media Localization Subtitle localization is not document translation with timestamps. Every line has a reading speed limit, a character constraint, and a synchronisation requirement. Alafranga's dedicated media team handles subtitle localization for streaming services, broadcasters and corporate video. Broadcast credits include Disney+ and Fox TV. → Media Localization

- AI-Assisted Translation SmartEdit is our controlled AI-assisted workflow: a structured AI draft, reviewed by a specialist inside memoQ or SDL Trados, with your translation memory and glossary enforced at every segment. - Quality Review Already have a translation from your in-house team, a machine, or another agency? We review it against the source, check terminology consistency, and return a corrected file with a structured feedback report. This covers AI output, machine translation and human translation, in Turkish and 40+ languages. → Quality Review
- Human Translation No AI in the file. In HumanExpert, one specialist translates and checks their own work. HumanExpert Pro adds independent revision and final QA, following the ISO 17100 workflow. Human translation used to be the only way this work could be done. That changed faster than the industry expected, and most of what we deliver today goes through an AI draft with human review.
