Leadership & Governance Alafranga Language Solutions is founder-led and owner-operated. Founded in Istanbul in 2002, the company is registered as Alafranga Europe Ltd in England and Wales.
Strategic direction and client relationships are managed directly by the founder. Day-to-day project delivery is handled by our project management team — experienced coordinators who oversee linguist assignment, workflow planning, quality control, and client communication across all active projects.
DTP, IT infrastructure, and media production are each managed by dedicated specialists. Our translator network of 2,000+ vetted professionals is not a database — it is a working community built over 23 years of real projects.
When you work with Alafranga, you are working with a team that has a direct stake in the quality of every delivery.

▮Volkan Güvenç — Founder & Director
Volkan founded Alafranga in Istanbul in 2002 and has led the company through every phase of its development — from a specialist Turkish translation desk to a London-registered agency serving LSPs and direct clients across Europe. He oversees strategic direction, client relationships, and quality governance across all operations.
"The work that matters most is the work where a mistake has real consequences. That is what we have built this agency around — and that standard has not changed in 23 years."
▮Şule Gonulsuz — Finance Manager
Şule joined Alafranga in 2004 and oversees financial planning, vendor payments, and administrative coordination. She ensures that invoicing is transparent, vendors are paid on time, and multi-currency transactions run cleanly — even on complex or time-sensitive projects.
"Financial discipline is what keeps a project operation trustworthy. Clients and translators both need to know that commitments will be honoured."
▮Deniz Toprak Odabaşı — Translation Project Coordinator
Deniz coordinates multilingual translation workflows — managing linguist assignments, quality supervision, and day-to-day client communication. She is the operational centre of every project, translating client briefs into clear workflows with defined timelines and quality checkpoints.
"A well-structured project is the first quality control. Before the first word is translated, the right people, tools, and expectations need to be in place."
