Alafranga has translated product documentation since 2002: user manuals and quick start guides, safety instructions, packaging and labels, warranty information and catalogues, in Turkish and more than 40 languages in total. For one manufacturer of personal protective equipment, we have delivered 291 projects since 2012.

A manual is often the only contact a buyer has with the manufacturer after the sale. If the warning is unclear, the assembly step is ambiguous or the label does not match the manual, the result is a support call, a return or an injury.

▮Selling in Turkey: What Each Document Needs

In Turkey, most product documentation for consumers must be in Turkish, and the manufacturer and importer share the responsibility. Translation covers the text; some documents need more.

▮One Product, Many Languages

When a product launches in several markets, every language has to say the same thing. We run all languages through one project manager, with a shared glossary and translation memory, so that a warning or a part name reads the same in Turkish, German and Polish.

Values, units, model numbers and symbols are locked before translation starts. After translation, we check them automatically against the source in every language.
