Turkish translation and proofing of a famous MMORPG, Cabal Online

Cabal Online Turkey approached us in need of a faithful, high-tempo translation of Cabal Online. CABAL Online is a free-to-play 3D third-person MMORPG set on the continent of Nevareth, a thousand years after the Apocalypse that destroyed the land and the CABAL. Players must now face the new waves of evil invading Nevareth in an attempt to stop the land from being destroyed again.


Our mission

In the game translation + localization projects, we are collaborating with 2 game masters as our project managers so that our clients can meaningfully increase their turnovers in the Turkish language zone. The project manager who specialized in MMORPG was assigned to Cabal Online.

Our project manager knew that Cabal Online gamers would play in a fantasy world with surreal characters. That's why right gaming terms were neurotically connected to the joy of play of Turkish gamers. Furthermore, the publisher had delayed localizing Cabal Online to the Turkish language and Turkish gamers had already been playing Cabal Online in the English version. And, our target was to raise the number of Turkish players.

In-game content was not presented in a localization-friendly format, instead excels in integration with exclusive instructions (sheet-by-sheet). In other words, we did not receive in-game content in classified columns, but the huge number of excel sheets. So, it was a challenge and the preparation of excel files for translation was time consuming. 

Thankfully, our contact at Cabal Online offered a golden help in building a terminology list exclusive to this project. Our project manager identified, booked and assigned 3 game translators and 1 proofreader who had past records in free-to-play 3D third-person MMORPG. To meet high-tempo working conditions, technology (server-tm) was effectively used as all translators and proofreaders could connect simultaneously to the common project tm. After the translation process is complete, our master proofreader checked all sentences segment-by-segment.


End of the game

Cabal Online Turkey was very satisfied with our problem-solving skills from start to finish. Turkish localization of Cabal II was made internally under Cabal Turkey team based on the project management experience gained in Caba Online.
