Manuals, Datasheets and CE Files Translated into Turkish
Alafranga has been translating technical documentation into Turkish for engineering, manufacturing and industrial companies selling or producing in Turkey: operating manuals, datasheets, CE technical files, safety data sheets and specifications. Turkish has been our founding language since 2002. We operate to ISO 17100:2015 and align terminology with Turkish standards (TSE) and EU usage.
The work is done by people who understand what the content does, not just what it says.
Need the translated document typeset and print-ready? We offer DTP as an integrated service alongside document translation and support InDesign, FrameMaker, Word, and structured documentation formats. The translated file is returned in the original layout, with text expansion handled, fonts verified for target language character sets, and formatting consistent with the source.

▮What Changes When a Manual Goes into Turkish
Turkish is structurally different from every European language your team works with. It is an agglutinative language: a single Turkish word can carry what English says in a whole phrase. Suffixes stack to show tense, possession, negation and case at once, and the word order is subject-object-verb, so the verb comes last.
In everyday content these differences are manageable. In technical content they are where errors happen:
Compound terms: Turkish builds compound nouns with suffixes, not word order alone. "Load-bearing capacity" becomes "yük taşıma kapasitesi", and a misplaced suffix changes what the term refers to. Translators who do not work with Turkish every day get this wrong.
Warnings and instructions: Because the verb comes last, a long safety instruction in Turkish puts the action at the end of the sentence. Warnings have to be restructured, not translated word for word, so the reader sees the hazard and the action clearly.
Units and measurements: Turkey uses the metric system, but legacy documentation, especially from US-origin companies operating in Turkey, may mix imperial and metric. Tolerances, torque values and load specifications must be converted and verified, not just translated.
Regulatory terminology: Turkish technical standards (TSE) use their own terminology, which does not always map onto EN or ISO terms. A translator without TSE familiarity defaults to approximate terms that fail compliance review.
Characters and fonts: ı, İ, ğ, ş, ç, ö and ü must survive in every file, label and interface. Fonts and software that drop them produce text that is wrong, not just untidy.
