Multilingual Software Localization Services

Alafranga has been localizing software since 2002, starting with Turkish and now across 40+ languages.

Resource files, mobile apps, app store listings, SDK strings and help content are localized by native specialists who work inside your string limits and placeholder rules. One project manager coordinates every language, and each release comes back in your file format, ready to build.

For teams shipping every week, we connect your repository or build pipeline to a translation platform so new strings are picked up automatically, drafted with AI under your glossary and reviewed by a specialist before they ship. → AI Translation Workflow Consulting

The numbers behind our work

Continuous translation work since 2002, with every project recorded in our own system since 2009. The figures below come from those records, not from estimates.

  • 6,135 projects for 587 clients since 2009, recorded in ]Project Open[ (April 2026)
  • 95% of projects came from clients who returned with further work
  • 38 clients have worked with us for 10 years or more
  • 72 language pairs delivered, 31 languages with documented project history
  • 484 translators and reviewers paid across 9,606 purchase orders, 54 of them on 50 or more orders
  • ]Project Open[ open-source project management system, hosted in Spain, in use since 2009

▮What We Typically Localize

  • Mobile app UI (iOS & Android string files)
  • Menus, navigation systems, and micro-interactions
  • Onboarding flows and in-app tutorials
  • Push notifications and in-app messages
  • Subscription flows and payment screens
  • App Store / Google Play descriptions and metadata
  • Release notes and version updates
  • Help sections and support content
  • Embedded legal content (privacy, terms, permissions)

▮Let’s localize your app without slowing releases

Tell us:

  • your app architecture (iOS, Android, cross-platform framework),
  • file formats (.strings, XML, JSON, RESX, etc.),
  • target markets and languages,
  • release cadence (sprints, version cycles, live updates),
  • and which features are compliance-sensitive (payments, legal, permissions) vs high-volume

We'll propose the right workflow design, QA depth, terminology governance, in-context validation, and delivery format. So, your product can scale globally without breaking velocity.

Questions We Hear Before Every Project

  • What is software localization and how is it different from translation? Software localization is the adaptation of a software product including its interface, content, and behaviour for a specific market. It goes beyond translation. A localized app handles text expansion without breaking layouts, protects placeholders and variables from accidental modification, adapts store listings for local search visibility, and ensures compliance-sensitive content such as permissions and subscription disclosures meets local regulatory expectations. Translation is one part of this process, localization is the whole.

  • Which software and app content do you localize? We localize the full range of software content: mobile app UI for iOS and Android, menus, navigation systems, onboarding flows, in-app tutorials, push notifications, in-app messages, subscription flows, payment screens, App Store and Google Play descriptions, release notes, help sections, support content, and embedded legal content such as privacy policies, terms, and permissions. We also localize developer documentation, API references, SDK guides, and release notes.

  • How do you handle placeholders, variables, and tags in software strings? Placeholders, variables, string IDs, and formatting tags are treated as protected elements throughout the localization workflow. CAT tool validation rules prevent accidental modification. Tags are checked automatically on export. For apps with complex string architectures such as concatenations, pluralization rules, character limits, and system-triggered messages, we apply additional QA controls before delivery. We also perform in-context validation to catch truncation, overflow, and broken UI elements before release.

  • Can you integrate with our development workflow and CI/CD pipeline? Yes. We work natively with standard software localization file formats: .strings, XML, JSON, RESX, PO, YAML, XLIFF, and others. For teams with continuous deployment cycles, we can connect directly to your repository or localization platform to ensure translations are always synchronized with your release schedule. We adapt to your sprint cadence, version cycles, and live update frequency without requiring changes to your existing architecture.

  • Do you offer multilanguage software localization? Yes. We localize software, apps and web interfaces into more than 40 languages, among them German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Danish, Hungarian, Turkish, Greek, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Each language brings its own constraints: German and Finnish strings run longer than the English source and strain fixed-width components, Arabic requires right-to-left layout, Chinese, Japanese and Korean need full character set and font support, and plural forms, date and number formats differ from one locale to the next. We check string length, encoding and locale formats for each language before delivery.

Translation tools and AI workflow
Tools and AI, under our control

We work in Trados and memoQ, or in the client's own translation system, with client-specific translation memories and glossaries maintained across every project. AI drafts are produced with the whole document in view, not sentence by sentence through a machine translation API, so terminology, cross-references and tone hold from the first page to the last. We are not tied to one model: we test models on your own sample files. A named specialist reviews and approves every output.
