Alafranga Language Solutions is a founder-led technical translation agency, active since 2002. Originally founded in Istanbul, now registered in London as Alafranga Europe Ltd (Co. No: 16711244). ISO 17100:2015 certified, ATC and EUATC Accredited Member since 2007. We work with LSPs and direct clients across technical, legal, medical and media content.

 

Alafranga is registered in London as Alafranga Europe Ltd — UK jurisdiction, SEPA-enabled payments, closer to our European client base. Operational roots remain in Turkey, where the agency was founded in 2002. We serve clients across Europe, Turkey and the Middle East through coordinated remote workflows.

 

Alafranga works with 40+ language pairs — every one backed by real project history, vetted translators, and tested workflows. Turkish is the founding language pair, active since 2002. Other languages were added as client demand required — not as a marketing decision.

 

Founded by Volkan Güvenç in Istanbul in 2002, Alafranga began as a Turkish technical translation office. Over 23 years, we expanded into 40+ languages, adopted ]Project Open[ before any other Turkish agency, built a dedicated media team, and relocated to London. The work has changed. The approach has not.

 

Alafranga is not a platform or a marketplace — it is a team. Every project is managed by a named coordinator. Every translator is matched by domain expertise, not availability. Founded and still directed by Volkan Güvenç, who has been active in translation since 1993.
